Undo, Redo, and Clipboard
Undo mistakes, redo changes, and use copy/paste to speed up your editing.
Undo and redo
| Action | Shortcut |
|---|---|
| Undo | ⌘Z |
| Redo | ⌘⇧Z |
Up to 100 states in history. Every timeline operation is undoable: moves, splits, trims, effect changes, color grading, keyframe edits, transitions, track additions/removals.
Continuous interactions
Dragging a slider, moving a clip, or adjusting a color wheel records only the final result (on mouse release) as a single undo step — intermediate states are not tracked.
Clipboard
| Action | Shortcut | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Cut | ⌘X | Remove selected clips, place on clipboard |
| Copy | ⌘C | Copy selected clips to clipboard |
| Paste | ⌘V | Insert clipboard contents at playhead position |
| Duplicate | ⌘D | Copy + paste in place (duplicates appear after originals) |
Pasted clips land at the playhead on the same track(s) as the originals. Linked clips are pasted together.
On Windows and Linux, replace ⌘ with Ctrl.
