Basics
Markers and In/Out Points
Bookmark moments and mark a region of the timeline for export in Tooscut.
Markers
Markers are named bookmarks on the timeline ruler, useful for flagging moments to revisit.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| M | Add marker at playhead |
| Shift + M | Go to next marker |
| Alt + M | Go to previous marker |
Markers appear as small colored triangles on the ruler.
- Click a marker to jump the playhead to it.
- Double-click a marker to rename it inline.
- Right-click a marker for a context menu — rename, change color, or delete.
Markers are saved with your project and are undoable like any other edit.
In/out points
In/out points mark a region of the timeline — useful for exporting just a segment of your edit.
| Shortcut | Action |
|---|---|
| I | Set in-point at playhead |
| O | Set out-point at playhead |
| Alt + I | Clear in-point |
| Alt + O | Clear out-point |
The marked region shows as a highlighted overlay on the ruler between [ and ] brackets.
Unlike markers, in/out points are not saved with the project — they reset when you reload.
When an in/out range is set, the export dialog offers an option to export only that range instead of the full timeline.
